Protests erupt in the hometown of Sarabjit

Amritsar: Thursday angry protests erupted in the birthplace of Bhikhiwind Sarabjit Singh after the Indian prisoner died in a hospital in Lahore with villagers attacking Pakistani authorities by the deadly attack against him. Shouting slogans against Pakistan, several villagers burned Pakistani flags to register their protest.

During the protests, the villagers accused of murdering Pakistan Sarabjit. Also attacked the Pakistani authorities not to shift to another country Sarabjit "appropriate treatment".


The villagers tore down all business establishments in the area to protest the brutal attack on Singh by inmates at a jail in Lahore. The locals of the border village dream home crowd began to Singh as he received the news of his death.

However, a family member of Singh is camping in Delhi since Wednesday and is expected to reach Amritsar at night. Singh died of cardiac arrest in a hospital in Lahore in early Thursday after being in a coma for almost a week after the assault by fellow inmates at a high security prison in Pakistan. From Sarabjit wife Sukhpreet Kaur, daughters and Swapandeep Poonam and sister Dalbir Kaur Kaur, who went to Lahore on Tuesday to see him, returned to India on Wednesday.
