Inter Cut-off Mark Mystery Confounds AP IIT Aspirants
Hyderabad: The time limit marks for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology has soared by nearly 30 percent this year, thanks to new top-20 percentile standard introduced by the Centre. Only 1.24 lakh students have cleared the brand this year.
General category students must earn more than 89.81 percent in the February 10 tests, according to an analysis by the Council of the School.
The cutoff point for students belonging to Scheduled Castes was 84.34 percent, tribes, and other categories 85.28, 88.30 percent. Previously, the mark is set at 60 percent of general category students and 55 percent for students categ-ORY reserved in 10 2 exams.
To reach the new level of court, general category students must earn 476 points on 530 to qualify for the IIT. Brands are scheduled caste students 447, 452 for ST and 468 for other categories reserved.
Only 1.24 lakh students figure in the list top-20 percentile, of the 3.7 lakh students who took the examination of the current MPC in Inter II year exams this year. Of the 1.24 lakh, 75,890 are general categories, 8,452 of the SC, ST and 3111 from 36,626 in other categories reserved.
According to new rules issued by IIT, students have to appear both JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) for admission to IIT. The top-1, 50,000 soldiers in JEE (Main) will be allowed to stand for JEE (Advanced). <br> These top-1, 50,000 soldiers should also be on the list top-20 percentile in the February 10 board exams to be eligible for admission to IIT.
There is some confusion about what happens if a student secures highest marks in the revaluation or count, and taking into account these brands. It is common for many students to apply for revaluation or recounting the marks immediately after the results were announced.
"The CBSE, which has been conducting JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) has asked us to provide you with the final results at the end of May. Students may request the recount or new response scripts Inter verification as usual. We will complete the process on 20 May and final offer CBSE results taking into account the marks secured in the revaluation / count too, "said Ram Shankar Naik, secretary, BIE.
