Indian-American Family dies in car crash in Canada


BATHINDA: The Bathinda cities of Punjab Rampura and pain-filled Tuesday when the news of the death of five members of a family living in Canada, in a car accident came here. Among the dead were three women and two children. Jolly Sachdeva's family had made their way into the Canadian city of Surrey through their very famous' Sachdeva Sweets. Although Jolly himself was not in the car at the time of the accident, but her mother Vidyawati, sister Neelam, wife Reena, son Anish (5) and his daughter Jessica (3) died in the crash.


Back home in Rampura Sachdevas ran the sweet shop and were a household name in the city. In search of greener pastures, the family had emigrated to Canada about 15 years ago and with hard work had established brand "Sachdeva Sweets' in Surrey. Then the family had established, Jolly had called his sister Neelam Dhingra, who worked as Professor of Mathematics in the Punjab.

The whole family had just arrived in Bathinda and Rampura to visit the birthplace and returned only last month in March, while Neelam had returned only a week ago, on April 22.

Neelam 'brother Suresh Dhingra, who works as an accounts officer in Bathinda BSNL said "Neelam' husband and brother Yash Dhingra on leave from his job at the bank had been vacationing in Canada in January and my sister had come here with family to visit the place. Sachdeva When the family was back in March, Neelam had contained and returned last week and was happy to have to accompany her husband in Canada. "

Suresh said my sister Neelam "Jolly Sachdeva brother had won a great name through his candy business and everyone was proud of him, but fate had something in store for him." Suresh said Neelam wanted to join teaching job but fate has snatched from us. Anish said Saturday only son Jolly 'had celebrated his fifth birthday and had gone to a religious place of thanksgiving.

Sachdeva Judgepal Uncle Jolly, who lives in Rampura said the family was known here in Rampura and won same situation in Canada.
